Short biography
Vladimir Antonovich Tovstik was born in 1949 in Minsk .
From 1966 to 1972 He studied with Natan Voronov at the Belarusian Theater and Art Institute .
1973-1976 study in the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts in Baku under the direction of M. G. Abdullayev
Since 1972, he has been a regular participant in republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions.
Since 1978. Member of the Union of Artists of Belarus.
Since 1976, Associate Professor of the Drawing Department of the Academy of Arts of Belarus .
In 1990 he was awarded the honorary title " Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus ".
In 1994, he was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus for the series of paintings “Light and Shadows”.
In 1995, he won the Habitat II Prize of the UN Mission in Belarus [1] .
In 2011 he was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Belarus" and the academic title " Professor " in the specialty "Art".
Social activities
Vladimir Tovstik took an active part in the Days of Culture of the Republic of Belarus in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Arab Republic of Egypt [2] .
He participated in joint projects of a literary newspaper and a standing committee of the union state of Belarus and Russia. In 2002, he participated in the Art Exhibition in Belgrade [3] .
In 2006, in the City Art Gallery of works of Shchemelev L. D. [4] was exhibited in the exhibition "Dedication" (painting) [5] .
In 2007, he exhibited at the Post-Tradition Exhibition of the Union of Artists of Belarus in the Gallery of Art.
In 2008, he took part in the Cultural Crusade from Belarus in Beijing [6] .
Achievements
Since 2000 - Member of the Subcommittee on State Prizes of the Republic of Belarus in the field of literature, art and architecture [3] .
Since 2007 - Member of the Expert Council on the Prizes of the Union State in the field of literature and art under the Standing Committee of the Union State [4] .
In 2008, he became the hero of the book by B. A. Krepak “Vladimir Tovstik. Rook of Time: Silver and Gold Palettes on Canvas Reflections, 334 pages.
Works are in the National Art Museum of Belarus , the Museum of Contemporary Fine Art of Belarus, the collection of the Union of Artists of Belarus, the Baku Art Museum. Mustafayeva ( Azerbaijan ), in the collections of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus and Russia, Peter Bruegel Gallery ( Holland ), Mark Datrin Gallery ( Italy ), Museum of Russian Art ( New Jersey , USA ), Zimmerli Art Museum (USA), and also in private collections in Finland, Germany, Slovenia, Switzerland, Greece, Israel, Poland, Belarus [5] and Russia.
