Biography
He was born on July 26 ( August 8 ), 1910 in the village of Paltsevo [1] (now in the Porkhov District , Pskov Region ) into a peasant family. Russian .
He lived in the village of Klinets, Dedovichi district, Pskov region. He graduated from the road technical school . He worked as a tractor driver at the MTS .
In the Red Army in 1932-1934 and since 1941. In 1934 he graduated from the armored school. Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941 . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1942 .
The commander of the tank platoon of the 86th separate tank battalion (55th Army, Leningrad Front ), junior lieutenant Mikhail Yakovlev, distinguished himself particularly on December 23, 1941 in the battle for the village of Krasny Bor on the southeastern approaches to Leningrad .
Reflecting the enemy counterattacks, a platoon of junior lieutenant Yakovlev M.I. destroyed three anti-tank guns, four machine guns , a significant amount of enemy manpower and kept the occupied line.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 6, 1942, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to this, Junior Lieutenant Mikhail Ivanovich Yakovlev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal "(No. 631).
Senior Lieutenant M. I. Yakovlev died the death of the brave in battle on July 22, 1943 . He was buried in St. Petersburg at the Chesmensky military cemetery .
