The Dnieper-Donets Basin ( Dnieper-Donets Avlacogen ) is a large negative tectonic formation of the East European platform in the north-east of Ukraine and in the south-east of Belarus . Located between the Ukrainian shield and the Voronezh crystalline massif . The Precambrian foundation in the main part of the basin lies at a depth of 12–20 km. Oil and gas deposits were encountered [1] .
