El Yunque ( Spanish: El Yunque ) - a mountain 575 meters high , [1] located 7 kilometers west of the city of Baracoa and the bay of the same name in the province of Guantanamo in Cuba . It has the shape of a table mountain and resembles an anvil , which is why it got its name ( yunque - Spanish. Anvil ).

El Yunke was mentioned by Christopher Columbus in his chronicles about the discovery of the Americas [2] . The mountain is located between the banks of the Duaba and Toa rivers, it has a perimeter of 1,125 meters and an area of 461,000 m²
El Yunke was declared a National Monument by the Cuban National Monument Commission on December 25, 1979 [1] .
