Geographical position
Located in the southern part of the state. According to the US Census Bureau, Mora County has a total area of ββ5009 square kilometers, of which 5001 square meters. kilometers takes land and 6 square meters. kilometers - water.
History
The first settlers of the Mora County, in particular the Mora River Valley, were Hikarilya Apaches. In the 1600s, Spanish conquistadors traveled along the Mora River, and in the 1700s, French hunters explored the mountains and rivers of the territory. In 2010, 4881 people lived in the Okrug (51.2% of men and 48.8% of women), there were 2114 households and 1295 families. Racial composition : white - 70.9%, African Americans - 0.7%, Native Americans - 1.3%, Asians - 0.3, and representatives of two or more races - 3.3%. 81.0% of the population were Hispanic [2] .
According to the 2010 census, the population of the district according to the age range was as follows: 21.3% - residents under 18 years old, 3.0% - between 18 and 21 years old, 57.0% - from 21 to 65 years old and 18.7% - at the age of 65 years and older. The average age of the population is 46.0 years. For every 100 females in the Sea, 104.8 males were accounted for, while for 100 adult females there were already 102.8 males of comparable age [2] .
Of 2114 households, 61.3% were families: 43.5% of couples living together (12.4% with children under 18); 10.9% are women living without husbands and 6.9% are men living without wives. 38.7% did not have a family. On average, 2.31 people conduct households, and the average family size is 2.92 people. Alone, 33.2% of the population lived, 13.5% were single elderly people (over 65 years old) [2] .
