Roger Ramjet

Roger Ramjet is an American animated comedy series, first aired in 1965. The main characters of the series are Roger Ramjet and his Squadron of American Eagles. The series is characterized by limited, often conditional animation , a torn rhythm of narration (with frequent and unmotivated change of plans) and numerous references to the phenomena of pop culture, which allowed it to gain popularity in different age groups.

Content

Story and characters

Roger Ramjet is an “internationally renowned good guy,” an ultra-patriotic and highly moral (albeit not too smart) superhero struggling to make this world a better place. Members of his Squadron of American Eagles (who are mostly his own children) and the Proton Pills invented by him help him in the fight. The pill gives Roger “the power of twenty atomic bombs for a period of twenty seconds,” and this, as a rule, is enough to deal with the villains.

The pilots of the American Eagles Squadron are Yank, Doodle, Dan and Dee (pun, Yank, Doodle, Dan and Dee - all together make up the Yankee Doodle Dandy ). Despite the fact that they are all children, each of them has his own jet plane (with the exception of Dee, the youngest), which allows them to take a direct part in the struggle of Roger Ramjet to save the world.

The villains in the series are:

  • Crazy Scientist Dr. Ivan Zlodelyuk
  • Gangster Noodles Romanoff, "the most inveterate of the villains"
  • Red Dog, "The Filthiest, Dastest, Unprincipled and Disgusting Pirate in the World"
  • Solenoid robots speaking in "inaudible" electronic voices
  • and etc.

Music Theme

The main musical theme of the series is the Yankee Doodle melody performed on the organ, on which poems of the following content are put (performed by children's voices):

Option 1

Roger Ramjet and his Eagles
Fighting for our freedom
Fly through in and outer space
Not to join 'em, but to beat' em

Free translation: Roger Ramjet and his Eagles fight for our freedom, they fly here and there and defeat anyone!

Option 2

When Ramjet takes a Proton Pill
The crooks begin to worry
They can't escape their awful fate
From Proton's mighty fury

Free translation: When Ramjet swallows the Proton Pill, the villains get nervous! They can’t get away from their fate, they can’t get away from the Proton power!

Option 3

So come and join us all you kids
For lots of fun and laughter
As roger ramjet and his men
Get all the crooks they're after

Free translation: Join us, kids, if you want to laugh and have fun! Roger Ramget and his team will defeat all the villains!

Chorus

Roger Ramjet, he's our man
Hero of our nation
For his adventures just be sure
And stay tuned to this station

Free translation: Roger Ramjet, our dude, the hero of our nation! Follow his adventures and do not switch!
