History
The “big” 90-meter springboard was built in Kirov in 1951 , one of the first in the Soviet Union . The place of construction was chosen for the mountain of Filena, which is the left “steep” bank of the Vyatka River in the northern part of the city. Next to the large were built medium and small springboards, the building of the sports base "Tramplin" (now in charge of the whole complex), the building of children's ski sections were erected. For the guests of the springboard was built hotel.
The maintenance of the springboard required a lot of money, and since 1992 , when the economy of Kirov, which existed at the expense of the defense industry, was badly damaged, it actually turned out to be abandoned. Full reconstruction and recovery of the springboard were made in 2002 . Since almost all the “big” springboards in Russia are inoperative, the Kirov K-90 immediately began to take the stages of the All-Russian skiing cups.
In June 2010, a fire occurred on a large springboard [2] . In 2012, a decision was made to reconstruct the springboard complex [3] . As of 2017, the complex continues to be in disrepair. Reconstruction is scheduled to begin in 2019. For these purposes, provided 11 million rubles.
In 2016, the average K-40 springboard on its own restored the K-50 team of veteran athletes in ski jumping for 7 months, without waiting for support from local officials. A few years ago the building was called an emergency one and they planned to demolish it, and in January it took the first starts.
In June 2017, Nadezhda Anisimova, Head of the Department of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports, announced the preservation of the K-90 springboard due to its heavy wear [4] .
