Vasily Konstantinovich Mishchenko (born July 22, 1955 , settlement Sholokhovskiy , Rostov Region ) is a Soviet and Russian actor and director of theater and cinema, film producer. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation ( 2001 ).

Biography
Vasily Mishchenko was born and raised on the Don in the mining village of Sholokhovskiy [1] [2] .
In 1980 he graduated from the A. V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatrical Art (the first graduation of the course of O. Tabakov ) [2] .
Since 1981, he has served in the troupe of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater [3] .
In 1980, he starred in the film directed by Sergei Solovyov " Rescuer ", which received the award of the Venice Film Festival [1] . Since then, he has been actively acting in films, and since 1998 he has been engaged in filmmaking.
In 2009, he directed the play “In the morning they woke up” by V. Shukshin at the Gogol Theater as a director [1] .
From 2015 to 2017 - the head of the workshop "Directing Film and Television" at VGIK [2] .
