Publication dates1844-1855; in 1862-1865 indexes were published.

It covers a period of about a thousand years - from the end of II to the beginning of the XIII century. Initially, Ming planned to publish all the works until the Renaissance, but the volume of the publication was too large.

The publication is distinguished by the completeness of genres: theological works, hagiography, poetry, historical and scientific literature, translations from Greek, correspondence, materials of cathedrals, various documentation are included.

The corpus is essentially a huge reprint of previously published editions and does not have independent textological significance [1] . A significant number of works have not been reprinted since then, and the publication continues to be used by medievalists, although at present it is outdated and does not meet modern scientific standards.

The publication has serious flaws. The chronological principle has not been fully sustained, the works of some authors are placed in several volumes at once, and obviously apocryphal works are included.
