Rosemayer and Nazism

The Wedding of Ally Bainhorn and Rosemayer ( 1936 )

Since 1933, Rosemayer served in the SS , considered by the Nazis as a hero. About his death, Hitler said that Rosemayer was one of the best pioneers of auto racing, which was of great importance for auto racing and the automotive industry in Germany.

Writer and critic Victor Klemperer in 1946 wrote about Rosemayer:

The most frequent and memorable image of the heroism of the mid-thirties was a race car driver: after his death, Bernd Rosemayer in the eyes of the people is equal to Horst Wessel .

Like Wessel, Rosemayer was a member of the SA and the SS Hauptsturmfuhrer . This was one of the main points of Nazi propaganda and Nazi ideology for the exaltation of Aryan theory and the education of youth. The story of his death was used by the Nazis for propaganda purposes. .
