Fairs Cup 1970/1971

The thirteenth and last Cup of the fairs was played from 1970 to 1971 . The Cup was won by Leeds United , beating Juventus in the final. For the first time in the history of the Cup, the winner of the final was determined thanks to the larger number of goals scored away. The following season, the Fairs Cup was replaced by the UEFA Cup , which gave UEFA full control over all of European football. The Cup itself was played in the Super Final between the two winners most successful in the Fairs Cup: Barcelona (which won it three times and was the first winner) and Leeds United (the last winner).
