Korbu is a commune in the north of the Harghita County ( county ), in the historical region of Transylvania , in Romania , 14 kilometers from the town of Borzek .

The area of the commune is 170.5 km². The population is 1.602 people (as of 2002 ), mainly Romanians . The population density is 9.39 people / km². The commune includes 2 villages - Kapu-Korbuloy and Korbu.
During the First World War , military units were formed on the territory of the commune, which suffered huge losses in battle. In this regard, in 1930, a majestic monument of granite and marble was erected in memory of all those who died in 1914 - 1918 (during the Transylvania war, where the commune was located, it was part of Austria-Hungary ).
