Lesser Belt ( Dat. Lillebælt ) is a strait between the islands of Funen and Hero in the east, and the island of Als and the Jutland peninsula in the west. Connects the Baltic Sea and the Kattegat Strait.

The length of the strait is 50 kilometers, the width varies from 800 meters to 28 kilometers, the smallest depth at the fairway is 12 meters, and the maximum is 75 meters.
Two bridges are called over the strait, which are called the Old Bridge and the New Bridge .
According to the ESB: “ In the military history, the passage of the Swedish king Charles X on ice B .; On January 30, 1658, the king set off from the village of Geylsa, 15 km south-east of Kolding, to Brandse Island, from there to Cape Bedelsborggoved on the island of Fionia, he headed on February 5 and 6 along the ice of Greater B. to Langeland, and from there through Laland and Falster to Fordingborg on the island of Zealand ” [1] .
In the " Song of the Germans " is mentioned as the northern limit of Germany.
