Salvatore Cammarano ( Italian: Salvatore Cammarano ; March 19, 1801 , Naples , July 17, 1852 , ibid.) - Italian poet, playwright and librettist.
Coming from a large Neapolitan theater family, son of the artist Giuseppe Cammarano . He wrote almost 40 opera librettos , including several for Gaetano Donizetti ( Lucia di Lammermoor (1835), Roberto Devereux (1837) and Polievkt (1840)), Giuseppe Verdi (Alzira (1845), The Battle of Legnano "(1849)," Louise Miller "(1849) and " Troubadour " (1853). Salvatore Cammarano died in 1852 when he wrote the last act of the libretto" Troubadour ".
His son, Michele Cammarano , became an artist.
