Shonla Hydroelectric Dam High Pool

Bief ( French bief ) - part of a river , canal , reservoir or other water body adjacent to a hydraulic structure .

Structures that may have upstream waters include a dam , a lock , a hydroelectric power station, and others.

There is an upper pool, which is located upstream, and a lower one , located on the other side of the hydraulic structure. The upper pool is often a reservoir .

A pool formed by two or more water-supporting structures and located on a watershed section of a water system or watercourse is called separate.
