Goose Land is the largest peninsula on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago ( Arkhangelsk Region , Russia ).

The peninsula is located in the west of the South Island . On it is the westernmost point of the archipelago. Cape coast: Sokolova, Morozova, Lillie, Middle Goose Nose, Southern Goose Nose, Non-Bazar-Salya, Lyudsalya, Northern Goose Nose. Large rivers: Junko , Segryyakha , Western Junko , Eastern Junko , Pestsovaya, Sauchiha, Latayakha, Cross-Yah, Martyakha. The peninsula is shared by the Kostin Shar Strait and Moller Bay . Goose Land is also washed by Rogachev Bay, Belushya Bay, Gagarin Bay, Osiveypakha Bay and Litke Bay.
The relief of the peninsula is mostly flat . The highest point is a mountain in the east with a height of 284 m. Other mountains: Pestsovaya (218 m), Special (89 m). In the southwestern part of the peninsula there is the Yalmakhoy ridge up to 174 m high. The peninsula is very boggy , there are many lakes on it, the largest of which is Gusinoe Lake (located in the northern part of the peninsula).
Near the peninsula, the depths of the sea are up to 123 m. The average value of tides on the coast of the peninsula is 1.0 m. The villages of Rogachevo and Belushya Guba are located on the peninsula.
Fauna of the Arctic tundra . During molting, thousands of herds of geese gather on the peninsula. The peninsula is used for grazing deer . [one]
Mention in the movie
The plot of one of the series of the Convoy PQ-17 television series is connected with the peninsula, where the plot of the Allied civilian sailors landed after the attack of a German submarine.
