Biography

Even before entering the conservatory, he worked in various orchestras - from 1920 to 1923 - artist of the orchestra of the Union of Artists of the Red Theater, from 1923 to 1925 - musician of the brass band of the military communications school named after Lensoviet. For some time he took lessons from V.N. Tsybin , with whom he later had friendship and cooperation. [1] In 1924 he entered the Leningrad Conservatory in the class of R. K. Lambert , which he graduated in 1931 in the class of N. Verkhovsky. From 1926 to 1938 he worked in the orchestra of the Maly Opera House . In parallel, from 1931 to 1938 he taught at the music school at the Leningrad Conservatory, and from 1932 to 1935 at the labor faculty of the Leningrad Conservatory.

From 1941 to 1943, while the Moscow Conservatory was in Saratov, he taught a flute and conducting class there. At the same time, he was a teacher at the Engels College, conductor of the Saratov Opera and Ballet Theater and the Saratov Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. For active creative activity at this time he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War".

Since 1955, professor at the Leningrad Conservatory. Among the students are A. Vavilina , V. Fedotov , V. Zverev , A. Ratsbaum , S. Poshekhov , A. Naida, A. I. Shatsky.
