Maxim Ignatievich Khomyakov was born on July 30, 1912 in the village of Vlazovichi of the Surazh district (now the Surazh district of the Bryansk region ). Russian nationality, member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1938 .

In the naval service since 1931 . In 1936 he graduated from the Naval College named after M.V. Service during World War II

From September 1939 to March 1941 - the division navigator of the 32nd division of the 3rd submarine brigade, from March 1941 to July 1942 - the navigator of the 6th division of the 2nd submarine brigade, from November 1942 to February 1943 - trainee commander of a submarine of type "M", from February 1943 to February 1944 - commander of a submarine " M-16 ", in February-March 1944 - commander of a submarine "M-116", and together with this boat departed by rail to Black Sea Fleet.

Since March 1944, Lieutenant Commander Khomyakov M.I., appointed commander of the M-111 submarine brigade of submarines of the Black Sea Fleet, participated in the battles of World War II .

Under the command of M. I. Khomyakov, the M-111 submarine made five military campaigns on enemy communications, searched for and attacked enemy transports, ships and boats. In the presentation of the People's Commissar of the Navy, it was noted: the commander of the M-111 submarine showed exceptional courage in battle, always achieving victory. For one month of fighting for the Crimea and Sevastopol, Captain Lieutenant M. Khomyakov returned three times after attacks to the base for reloading and again went into battle.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 16, 1944 for skillful command of a submarine, exemplary performance of combat missions of command, and heroism and courage shown to this, Captain-Lieutenant Khomyakov Maxim Ignatievich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 3811). In July 1944, the M-111 submarine itself was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

Post-War Service

After the defeat of Nazi Germany, in July 1945, M.I. Khomyakov was enlisted in a special team to receive trophy ships and departed for the Red Banner Baltic Fleet . From March to August 1946, he commands the N-25 submarine, and from August 1946 to November 1948, the M-201 submarine of the 8th Navy. From November 1948 to May 1949, Khomyakov M. On May 19, 1954, M. I. Khomyakov , captain of the 2nd rank, was awarded the military rank “Captain of the 1st rank”. Since July 1956, captain 1st rank M.I. Khomyakov has been retired. M.I. Khomyakov died on October 24, 1958 in Leningrad and was buried in the Red Cemetery .
