Platte ( English Platte ) - a river in the United States , the right tributary of the Missouri (flows into it near the city of Platsmouth (near the large city of Omaha )). Formed by the confluence of the rivers North Platte ( Colorado , Wyoming and Nebraska ) and South Platte ( Colorado , Nebraska ), originating on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Platt himself (apart from the aforementioned sources) flows only through Nebraska . The length from the confluence of the sources is 510 km, from the source of the North Platte 1415 km. The basin area is 241 thousand km ?. Spring flood from melting snow, summer low water. The average annual water flow at the mouth is 150 m³ / s. Used for irrigation. On the North Platte River, there are large reservoirs ( Semino , Pathfinder , Glendo , Guernsey , McConogy , etc.), hydroelectric power stations . On the South Platte River is the city of Denver .
