Franz Hegenbart ( German: Franz Hegenbart , Czech. František Hegenbarth ; May 10, 1818 - December 20, 1887 ) - Austrian cellist and music teacher.

He graduated from the Prague Conservatory ( 1837 ), a student of Johann Baptist Hüttner . He played in the theaters of Graz , Linz and Lemberg . Since 1852 , he taught at the Salzburg Mozarteum , since 1865 he was a professor at the Prague Conservatory, he also directed the conservative orchestra. Among the students of Hegenbart, in particular, Ganush Wigan , Heinrich Grünfeld , Wilhelm Geral , Rudolf Erlich . He is also known for performing as part of a piano trio with Bedřich Smetana and Antonin Bennevits and a string quartet with Bennevitz as the first violin and Wojtech Grzhimali as the second. Published "18 exercises for the cello" ( German 18 Übungen für das Violoncello ; 1869 ).
