Alexander Zakanovich Akopov (b. November 22, 1957 , Moscow ) - Russian film and television producer, TV presenter . President of the Academy of Russian Television Foundation (since December 2013), co-founder of the production company COSMOS studio (since 2015), former president of the Amedia film company (2002-2015). Co-chairman of the Board of the Association of Film and Television Producers (since 2013), member of the Board of Directors of the Russian Producers Guild [1] .

Biography
Alexander Akopov was born on November 22, 1957 in Moscow , an Armenian [2] .
After graduation, he entered the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute , which he graduated in 1979 . While studying at the institute he played at KVN . After graduation, he entered graduate school and wrote a dissertation on design automation systems . He taught at the Department of Architecture MISI .
Professional Activities
Since 1979, he worked in civil engineering as a foreman, foreman .
In 1980, Akopov organized the student theater "SNIP", since 1981 begins to write television scripts, participates in the programs of the Central Television " Funny Guys " and " KVN ".
In 1986 he was invited to the Youth Edition of Central Television, where he served as editor of the KVN program.
In 1988, he created the Igrotechnika company, one of the first non-state companies involved in the production of television programs and advertising materials.
In 1992, together with Yuri Zapol, Mikhail Lesin and other Akopov, he became the founder of the Video International company, which was engaged in the production of advertising. He worked on the program "The Magnificent Seven."
From April to November 1992, he worked on the PBS channel ( USA ) as the responsible producer of a special project.
In 1994 [ specify ] was the host of the program "The Magnificent Seven."
From 1994 to 1996, Alexander Akopov was deputy director of the TV News channel (later RIA Novosti , now MIA Russia Today ). He organized and headed the information channel "Business Russia" on RTR. Within the framework of this channel, the program “Forum” was broadcast. He also produced the once-a-week comedy show.
In March 1996, Akopov became director of the VGTRK production center [3] . He took part in the launch of such famous TV shows as “ Full House ”, “ My Family ”, “Hot Ten” [4] and others.
From July 1997 to February 2002 [5] he served as general director of the Rossiya TV channel (RTR) [6] , as well as deputy chairman of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
In 2002, he created and headed the Amedia company, which included a production and distribution company, as well as a studio complex built by the company in Moscow.
Since 2005, the partner of the company is the industrial and financial group Access Industries Leonard Blavatnik .
In the summer of 2015, he left the presidency of Amedia and, together with Natalia Shneiderova, created the production company COSMOS studio [7] [8] [1] .
Teaching and social activities
Alexander Akopov was one of the initiators of the creation of the Association of Film and Television Producers (APKiT). In 2013, he was elected Chairman of the Management Board of the Industrial and Industrial Complex.

Anti-Piracy and Law Enforcement
Alexander Akopov is known for his lawsuit, as well as shocking statements. So, in October 2010 , he filed a lawsuit against his own company, Amedia, and won it [12] . In the same year, Akopov, speaking at a round table on the problems of combating Internet piracy, dissatisfied with the rampant piracy on the social network, announced that about 30 million VKontakte users were criminals:
| These are 30 million criminals, these accomplices are known, but 30 million cannot be sent to prison, but 10 thousand are possible. We are able to file a lawsuit on behalf of the 22 largest companies to the VKontakte network. [13] |
Outraged users of the resource demanded an apology from Akopov, and he publicly brought a few weeks later:
| I would like to apologize to those users of the VKontakte network who, probably, were rightly offended after hearing from media reports that some uncle called you a felon. [fourteen] |
According to the State Duma deputy and member of the committee on science and high technology Konstantin Rykov , the main goal of such statements by Akopov is self-PR and attempts to earn points in a conflict with the largest social network in Russia [15] .
