The name translated from Tatar means black head .

Included in the Almetyevsk-Bugulma agglomeration . It is located 27 km to the northwest from Bugulma , 18 km to the northwest from Leninogorsk , 29 km to the southwest from Almetyevsk . Includes rural settlements Kutulduk, Substation.

Near the village of r. The Steppe Zai receives the right tributaries of the Zai ( Bugulma Zai ) and Kudash , as well as the left tributary of the Zai Karatai . On the Zai river above the village (east), the Karabash reservoir was built .

The P239 Kazan - Orenburg highway runs along the western outskirts of the village, and the Leninogorsk-Karabash- Aktyubinsky highway crosses it north of the village.

History

It has been known since 1748. Until the 1860s In terms of estates, the inhabitants were divided into state peasants , Bashkir patriarchs and teppers. [2] A.Z. Asfandiyarov characterizes the affiliation of the Bashkirs of the Jurmiya volost [3] .

In 1834, 185 souls of tepters and 63 male Bashkirs lived in Karabash, and in 1859 - 1,317 state peasants and Bashkirs.
