Located on 32-37 km of route 86K-127 Louhi - Suoperya. Railway station Elovaya on 32 km of the line Louhi - Pyaozero .

It is located among the lambs (forest lakes) of the large lake systems of Kereti and Topozero .

Monuments of history

  • The historical monument [4] the memorial complex the Military cemetery is the largest burial place on the territory of the Republic of Karelia of 6276 soldiers of the Karelian Front [5] who died during the Soviet-Finnish War (1941-1944) . The Chuvash Soviet writer K. M. Koltsov (1916-1943) was buried there.
  • Grave of the Hero of the Soviet Union M.E. Rodionov (1915-1941).

Khizovaar Field

12 km northwest of the village is a deposit of kyanite ores . The total ore reserves are about 25 million tons [6] .
