History

Closed Joint-Stock Company Narodniy Telefon Saratov (CJSC NTS) was established on August 24, 1998 by the Russian company OAO Saratovelectrosvyaz and the Cyprus company Metrosvyaz Limited. In December 2002, OJSC Saratovelectrosvyaz was reorganized and, together with a package of its shares, CJSC NTS, became part of OJSC VolgaTelecom [1] .

Termination

On February 1, 2011, NTS CJSC stopped providing services in connection with the termination of the right to use CDMA radio frequencies [2] . In 2006, by the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the life of CDMA- 800 standard networks was limited until December 31, 2010: the range was allocated for terrestrial digital television networks [3] . Prior to the completion of operations, the operator had about 30 thousand subscribers, including more than one hundred beneficiaries, to whom the cost of communication services was compensated from the budget. All NTS clients were invited to switch to servicing at NSS CJSC.

In April 2011, the operator appealed to the Arbitration Court of the Saratov Region with a petition for bankruptcy [4] .
