Karl Munzinger ( September 23, 1842 - August 16, 1911 ) - Swiss composer and conductor.
For many years (until 1909 ), the general director of Berne , that is, the head of the Berne Opera and Berne City Orchestra , also taught at the city conservatory (among his students, in particular, Hans Huber and Volkmar Andre ). The most famous cantata is “The Battle of Murten” ( German: Die Murtenschlacht ; 1898 , on the plot about the reflection of the Swiss invasion of Karl the Bold in 1476 ), as well as songs.
In the name of Munzinger, a street and a school are named in Bern [1] .
