Checkpoint (in abbreviated form - KP ) - in any kind of orientation, the point at which competitors should visit. The point is indicated on the map and is equipped with a sports prism on the ground. To control the CP, there must be a marking tool: electronic marking station, composter, colored pencil, letter or word to remember, a container for notes.
Checkpoints should be located on the landmarks indicated on the map and described in the legend . Sometimes for additional control in the area of the KP there is a judge-inspector.
