Santa Chiara ( Italian: Basilica di Santa Chiara , St. Clara's Basilica) is a religious complex in Naples , which includes a monastery , tombs and an archaeological museum.
The monastery was built in 1310–1340 by King Robert the Wise as the tomb of the kings of the Anjou dynasty .
Initially, the monastery was built in the traditional Provencal-Gothic style , but in the XVII-XVIII centuries it was rebuilt in the Baroque style . During World War II, the building was almost completely destroyed by bombing. After restoration in 1953, the church returned to its original appearance.
Separately from the building is a bell tower . Its construction was begun in 1328 , and completed only in the Renaissance . The covered gallery, columns and benches of the church’s cloister are decorated with majolica depicting paintings from the life of Naples - carnivals, sea voyages, hunting.

Traditions
There is a belief that couples married in this church will live happily, do not recognize separation, poverty and distrust, therefore the church is very popular among girls and boys of Naples .
