Service History
The battleship Severnaya Zvezda was laid down at the Solombala shipyard on July 22 ( August 2 ), 1734 , and after launching on July 22 ( August 2 ) 1735 , it became part of the Baltic Fleet of Russia . Construction was carried out by a ship foreman in the rank of captain-commander Richard Cosenz . In August of the same year, the ship was prepared for transition to the Baltic Sea , however, due to the onset of autumn storms, it was forced to stay for the winter in Arkhangelsk [4] [5] [6] [7] .
From July to September 1736, at the head of a detachment of four ships under the general command of Colonel-rank captain George Paddon, he made the transition from Arkhangelsk to Kronstadt . In 1737 he took part in the practical voyage of a squadron of ships of the Baltic Fleet in the Gulf of Finland in the area of Krasnaya Gorka , and in 1740 - in a practical voyage to Revel [5] [8] .
He took part in the Russian-Swedish war of 1741-1743. From June to August 1741 he was part of the squadron, which stood on the Kronstadt roadstead. From June to September of the following 1742, he went on cruising voyages to the Gulf of Finland as part of a squadron under the command of Vice Admiral Z. D. Mishukov , but did not take part in active hostilities. On April 30 ( May 11 ), 1743 , the ship, as part of Rear Admiral J.S.Barsh's squadron, left Revel for cruising to the Gulf of Finland. On June 6 (17), an enemy fleet was discovered by a squadron near Gangut and the ship was sent in pursuit of the frigate that separated from it, but it was not possible to catch the frigate and the Northern Star returned to the squadron. WITH7 ( 18 ) On June 8 (19), he took part in skirmishes with the enemy fleet near Gangut in order to cover the passage of the rowing fleet . After that, until October 20 (31) he continued to participate in cruising swimming [5] .
In 1744, he took part in the practical sailing of the Baltic Fleet’s ships in the Gulf of Finland near Krasnaya Gorka, in 1746 he participated in the practical sailing in the Baltic Sea to Rogervik , and in 1748 he also took part in the practical sailing [5] [9] .
