Biography
Born on July 19, 1925 in the village of Bushkovo, Kholmogorsky district of the Arkhangelsk province [1] (now Kholmogorsky district of the Arkhangelsk region ) in a peasant family. Russian
He was the twelfth child in a large family of I. V. Galushina and V. I. Galushina [1] .
Primary education. Before the war, he graduated from the 7-year-old secondary school No. 2 in Arkhangelsk , after which he became an apprentice driver, and then an engineer for the steamer Sura of the Northern Shipping Company [1] .
After the start of World War II , on June 23, 1941 he turned to the military registration and enlistment office of Arkhangelsk together with a request to enlist as a volunteer in the army, but was refused, because at the time of the appeal he was 16 years old [1] .
He continued to work on the ship “Sura” (which transported military goods from Murmansk and Kandalaksha) [1] .
In January 1943 he enlisted in the army as a volunteer, was enlisted in the airborne troops, and went on combat training in the Volga region [1] .
At the end of 1944 he became a scout.
Since January 1945 - in the army - Private Guards, reconnaissance platoon on foot reconnaissance of the 332th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 104th Guards Rifle Division [1] (9th Guards Army, 3rd Ukrainian Front).
On March 16, 1945, the division entered the battle north of Lake Balaton. Fights for heights in the area of the villages of Schored and Bodayk took on a fierce character [1] .
On March 18, 1945, Private Guard Galushin at a critical moment in the battle for the village of Schöred (18 km north-west of the town of Szekesfehervar , Hungary ) with two anti-tank grenades rushed under the enemy’s self-propelled gun Ferdinand , destroying it, ensuring the advance of the battalion but he himself died.
July 29, 1945 awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously [1] .
He was buried in the village of Schored.
Prokopiy Ivanovich had seven [2] brothers and two sisters [3] . Among the numerous nephews of P. I. Galushin, one can single out the literary critic Vladimir Bondarenko [4] and the poetess Elena Soini .
