West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( Polish. Województwo zachodniopomorskie ) is a Voivodeship located in northwestern Poland . The center and largest city is the city of Szczecin . Formed on the territory of the former Szczecin and Koszalin Voivodeships.

Geography

It borders on Germany in the west, in the north it is washed by the waters of the Baltic Sea , in the northeast - with Pomeranian , in the southeast - with Greater Poland , and in the south - with Lubuskie voivodships.

Administrative division

The West Pomeranian Voivodeship includes three cities with the rights of powiat (with a total population of 552,585 people in 2018) and 18 counties (1,152,948 people in 2018). [3] In turn, they are divided into 114 communes : 11 urban communes, 52 rural-urban communes and 51 rural communes.
