West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( Polish. Województwo zachodniopomorskie ) is a Voivodeship located in northwestern Poland . The center and largest city is the city of Szczecin . Formed on the territory of the former Szczecin and Koszalin Voivodeships.

Population - 1,705,533 (December 31, 2017) ^[2] .

Geography

It borders on Germany in the west, in the north it is washed by the waters of the Baltic Sea , in the northeast - with Pomeranian , in the southeast - with Greater Poland , and in the south - with Lubuskie voivodships.

Administrative division

The West Pomeranian Voivodeship includes three cities with the rights of powiat (with a total population of 552,585 people in 2018) and 18 counties (1,152,948 people in 2018). ^[3] In turn, they are divided into 114 communes : 11 urban communes, 52 rural-urban communes and 51 rural communes.
