Arura (or Arura setat , Arura setjat ) is a unit of measure of area that was used by the ancient Egyptians.
Arura equals 100 royal elbows, i.e. 10,000 elbows 2 , which is approximately 2735.29 m 2 .
Arura consisted of:
( rmn ), remen - equivalent to 1/2 arura; approximately 1367.65 m 2 ;
( ḥsb ), heseb - equivalent to 1/4 arura; approximately 683.82 m 2 ;
( sȝ ), sa - equivalent to 1/8 aurora, approximately 341.91 m 2 .
( ḫȝ ), xa - equivalent to 1/10 aurora, approximately 273.53 m 2 .
( mḥ ), meh - one elbow of land is equivalent to 1/100 aurora, approximately 27.35 m 2 .
Several complex Arura setjat :
( ḫȝ-tȝ ), xata - equivalent to about 10 arura, about 27352.9 m 2 .
( ḥȝt ), hat - equivalent to 10 aura, approximately 27352.9 m 2 .
