Story
The film takes place in a strict regime colony. The date of the 100th anniversary of Lenin’s birth (that is, April 1970) is approaching. In order to demonstrate cultural work to the higher authorities, the colony management decides to prepare for the jubilee a performance dedicated to the October Revolution . Leading roles must be played by prisoners.
The prisoners were interested in the performance: they distribute among themselves the roles of revolutionaries - Lenin , Sverdlov , Dzerzhinsky - and begin to get used to the image and are addicted to it. Like revolutionaries, they strive for freedom: they decide to free themselves for the beginning and to arrange an escape from the colony. Prisoner Zuev, having some external resemblance to the leader of the world revolution, receives the role of Lenin. Being first at the very bottom of the prison hierarchy , Zuev, thanks to his role, suddenly becomes one of the leaders of the mass escape.
