Content
Story
The old owner of a huge rich house has nothing to do. Out of boredom, he builds children's railways in his room, pestering a young maid, enjoys the wine obtained by cunning - because his wife forbids giving him alcohol - and shoots boomerangs with a gun in the forest.
The owner’s son is ashamed of his aristocratic origin and therefore tries to earn a living by earning money by washing his windows and dishes. Having made acquaintance with the local vagrants, he occasionally treats them with wine from the family cellar.
And only the owner’s wife suits her position. She travels to business meetings, organizes banquets and enjoys life.
In the life of each of the heroes of the film, wine has a certain value. It cures or kills, helps to find a common language or quarrel, gives peace or fun.
The film was shot in the classical style of Ioseliani - a sense of peeping, lightness and unfocusedness on any of the plots. Each story happens, as it were, by the way, and is not fully disclosed - the director gives the viewer the right to present the details himself, without clogging the picture with details.
