Activities

The company is the largest Russian aviation holding . The holding includes design bureaus and serial aircraft manufacturing plants, which ensures the implementation of a full cycle of work in the aircraft industry - from design to production and after-sales service of aviation products. The main objectives of the company are to provide modern aviation equipment of the Russian Air Force , increase the share of its products in the domestic and foreign markets of military and civil aviation through promising developments and diversification of its products.

The holding’s products, Su-type combat aircraft , form the basis of Russian front-line aviation and tactical aircraft of many countries of the world. Some aerobatics such as: “ Cobra Pugacheva ”, “Hook”, “Kulbit” were first performed on aircraft of the brand “Su”.

The company ranks third in the world in terms of production of modern fighter jets (as of 2006). At present, the company is implementing promising programs in the field of both military and civil aircraft manufacturing. In the field of civil aircraft manufacturing, a program is underway to create a family of Russian regional Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

The equipment of the Su brand has been adopted in 30 countries of the world. Su-type combat aircraft were delivered to Azerbaijan , India , China , Iraq , Poland , the Czech Republic , Slovakia , Hungary , Germany , Syria , Algeria , North Korea , Vietnam , Afghanistan , Yemen , Egypt , Libya , Iran , Peru , Angola , Ethiopia . In total, more than 2 thousand Su aircraft were delivered to foreign countries under export contracts. Today, the priority regional markets for Sukhoi aircraft are China , India , and the countries of Southeast Asia .

US Department of State Sanctions

In August 2006, the US State Department imposed sanctions against Russian state-owned companies Rosoboronexport and Sukhoi. They are accused of violating the 2000 Law on Non-Proliferation Against Iran, which prohibits cooperation with Iran in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction . The imposed sanctions prohibit US government agencies from buying or selling any goods, using or providing services to these companies. At the end of July 2006, Rosoboronexport signed a contract for the modernization of 30 Iranian Air Force Su-24 front - line bombers , which theoretically could be carriers of tactical nuclear weapons. The contract will be executed by the Sukhoi company.
