Biography
Born in a peasant family. Before the liberation of Korea from Japanese colonial rule, he actively participated in the anti-Japanese partisan struggle. In 1940 he was one of the leaders of the 8th regiment of the 1st United People's Revolutionary Army . [1] After the liberation of Korea (1945) - at party work, was the secretary of the party committee of the Labor Party of Korea (TPK) of the province of Pyeongchang-pukto . Since 1946 in command positions in the army. In 1954–59, deputy, in 1959–72 first deputy chairman of the DPRK Cabinet of Ministers. Chairman of the Governing Body of the DPRK (from December 28, 1972 to April 29, 1976). Member of the Political Committee of the CC TPK, Secretary of the CC TPK.
