Career
Hubbard began his career in Britain in 1949 at the Scottish Rangers club, signing a contract with a club that offered him conditions much worse than the other Scottish Clyde team. Hubbard’s debut in the Rangers took place on September 10 in a match against Partis Tisl . In total, Hubbard spent only 2 games for the club during his debut season. Hubbard had his first goal the following season, hitting the East FIFA club on December 23, 1950 . Hubbard made history in Scottish football, becoming the first and still the only foreign player to make a hat-trick in the Celtic Derby - Rangers derby [2] . Hubbard is one of the best Rangers in history for penalties : out of 106 goals scored by Hubbard, 57 he scored from the penalty spot, for which he received from the Rangers fans a joking nickname “King of the penalty”. Hubbard spent 10 years in the “Rangers”, which included 5 won champion titles and 2 Scottish Cups, during these 10 years Hubbard went on the field 238 times in the “Rangers” T-shirt and scored 106 goals, 27 of which went to the Scottish Championship 1956 —1957, when Hubbard became the league’s top scorer. Hubbard was sold by the Rangers to the Bury Club for £ 6,000 in 1959 , and three years later he returned to Scotland, where he ended his career at Air United . After graduating, Hubbard got a job as a physical education teacher .
