The Central Aero Club of the USSR named after V.P. Chkalov is one of the oldest and most famous aero clubs of the USSR . Within its framework, the USSR national aviation teams were formed, All-Union competitions were organized, new aviation and space records were registered, and interests of Soviet aviation sports were represented and defended in the International Aviation Federation (FAI).

History
On March 11, 1935 , the Central Council of Osoaviahim and the Central Committee of the Komsomol adopted a special resolution on the creation of the Central Aero Club of the USSR. Especially for the needs of the flying club, opposite the Tushino airfield , at 88 Volokolamskoye Shosse, a building was erected.
In June 1935, the flying club was named after A.V. Kosarev . The first aviation holiday was held on July 12, 1935 - a demonstration of the achievements of air sportsmen was organized for party and government leaders.
In September 1935, the CAC was admitted to the FAI.
December 27, 1938 [1] the flying club was named after V.P. Chkalov . In 1985, the CAC was awarded the Order of the Red Star.
Conversion
After the formation of the Russian Federation, the Central Aero Club of the USSR named after V.P. Chkalov was transformed in 1991 into the National Aero Club of Russia named after V.P. Chkalov . Later, in 1993, FSUE "NAK of Russia named after Chkalov" was created on its basis, which exists to this day and is physically located in the same building. An organization was also created with the name of NOU “Central Aero Club named after V.P. Chkalova DOSAAF of Russia ”, which exists as a structural unit of DOSAAF of Russia.
