Etymology
Named after the English orchid collector Bullen , who first bloomed in Europe.
The species does not have an established Russian name, in the Russian-language sources the scientific name Dendrobium bullenianum is usually used.
Biological Description
Sympodial plant of medium size.
It forms many straight or hanging leaf-covered shoots, from 25 to 60 cm long, 0.5 cm thick.
The leaves have the shape of an elongated oval, always grow in pairs, bifurcate at the tips, can reach 6 to 14 cm in length, and fall off at the time of flowering.
The inflorescence is almost spherical, bears 20–36 densely arranged flowers.
The flower is 1.9 cm. The sepals and petals are yellow, orange, sulfur or reddish with longitudinal stripes of a darker shade from the base to the center.
The lip in the form of a scapula, 1.7 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, has a spur at the base.
Chromosomes : 2n = 38.
Range , environmental features
Western Samoa and the Philippines .
Epiphytus . Evergreen forests at altitudes from 0 to 1000 meters above sea level.
Relative humidity : 80–85% throughout the year.
Precipitation: from 178 mm in March to 581 mm in December.
