Content
Story
Ritter Lance is a real knight. Erdal - seeks to become a knight. Once a misfortune happens in the kingdom, the princess Herzelinda is abducted by the Black Knight. Lance and Erdal set off to rescue her.

Criticism
The film received mostly negative reviews from critics. The German magazine Sueddeutsche Zeitung described it as a “shameful celebrity parade,” stating that “ Til Schweiger has gained hatred for the film from both critics and the press, and for good reason: the film is simply as wretched as its trailer” [2 ] . TV Movie.de wrote: “If the jokes were better and went beyond teenage humor, the film could have become a normal comedy” [3] . Cinefacts.de added: “Til is trying his hand at the comedy genre for the umpteenth time, but this film, unlike his previous creations Barefoot on the Pavement and Handsome , obviously lacks jokes” [4] . Dorit Koch from General Anzeiger Bonn , however, considered that “despite the absence of good jokes, the film will attract its audience at the expense of famous actors” [5] . Cinema.de described the film as “weak medieval stuffing with a couple of fun ideas” [6] . “The director and leading actor, Til Schweiger, in his medieval film continues to sprinkle children's jokes and humor in the style of Monty Python . You can try to find something funny here, but you will not succeed, ”summarizes Die Welt [7] .
Soundtrack
The 1½ Knights - In Search of the Ravishing Princess Herzelinde soundtrack was released on Interscope Records on December 19, 2008 and includes the song “Walta Sattla”, performed by Thiel Schweiger [8] . In his review of the album, Bild writes: “Unlike the film itself, the soundtrack is simply beautiful” [8] .
