Timakin, Evgeny Mikhailovich

Evgeny Mikhailovich Timakin ( 1916 - 2004 ) - Russian pianist and music teacher.

He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory , a student of Konstantin Igumnov .

Known mainly for many years of teaching at the Moscow Conservatory and the Central Music School . Among Timakin's students are Mikhail Pletnev , Ivo Pogorelich , Ekaterina Novitskaya , Alexander Mogilevsky , Sergey Musaelyan , Olga Kern and many others. "Another great teacher" called Timakin another student, Vladimir Feltsman [1] .

Timakin summarized his pedagogical experience in the book “Pianist Education” (M .: Soviet Composer, 1989), a valuable addition to which is the chapter in A. Khitruk’s collection of interviews “Eleven Views on Piano Art” (M .: Classics XXI, 2007).
