Georg Valdemar Höeberg ( Dat. Georg Valdemar Høeberg ; December 27, 1872 , Copenhagen - August 3, 1950 , Wedback ) - Danish composer and conductor. Grandson of composer Hans Christian Lumbu , brother of opera singer Albert Hoeberg .

Biography
He graduated from the Royal Danish Conservatory , a student of Niels Gade , Waldemar Tofte and Jorgen Ditleff Bondesen . Then he studied the violin in Berlin, in 1897 - 1901 . violinist of the royal chapel . Since 1900 , he taught violin at the conservatory.
In 1914 - 1930 Chief Conductor of the Royal Chapel . He was known primarily as a music specialist Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss - in particular, in 1914 he performed the first Danish production of “Tristan and Isolde” , conducted the first Danish performance of the Strauss Alpine Symphony a little more than a year after its creation. The Hoeberg conductor was considered the more successful rival of Karl Nielsen . In 1933 , he recorded the Nielsen Fifth Symphony - this is the first (at least from the surviving) recording of any of his symphonies.
Hoeberg also gave conducting classes to Crown Prince Frederick - the future King Frederick IX - who later used them, personally conducting court concerts on the occasion of the birthdays of members of the royal family [3] .
Höberg's composer heritage includes the opera Wedding in the Catacombs ( dates Et bryllup i Katakomberne ; 1909 ), two ballets, a symphony, chamber compositions.
