Gameplay

Before the start of the game, everyone places an equal small bet on the line. Then the dealer shuffles and deals the cards, 4 to each. Players are not allowed to watch them until all are dealt. After that, the players are divided into three categories: some “pass,” that is, they report the same amount that has already been set, others pass, discarding cards, and someone increases the bet. Anyone who increases the con, by the rule, does this three times. With each stage, one of the players "passes" again, someone passes, and in the final, the remaining players with the cards are opened. The one with the highest combination wins.

Pinoco Combinations

  • Staircase (Escalera) - 4 cards in a row, same as poker street (10-11-12-1)
  • Full - 4 cards of the same value (1-1-1-1)
  • Three (Trio) - three cards of four of the same value (7-7-7-4)
  • Two pairs (Pair up) - two pairs of identical cards (5-5-4-4)
  • Pair (Pair) - two identical cards out of four (8-8-9-5)
  • High Card (Mas Alt Map) - wins in the absence of other combinations

Cards in the Spanish deck are numbered from 1 to 12. 1 corresponds to an ace. The figures are cards 10, 11, 12, which are respectively called jack (honeycomb) , horse (caballo) and king (rei) . In combination, the ace adjoins both the king and the deuce, that is, from both one and the other end.

From History

In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, another, now unknown, game was played in Spain, similar to pinocho and poker. This is an "example", the most popular in that era, along with "15 points". It should have scored one of the most profitable combinations or counted points on cards of the same suit, if the combination did not work out. It is often described in Spanish rogue novels.

The name Pinoccho comes from the name of the famous character of Collodi's fairy tale - Pinocchio , in Spanish his name is pronounced like Pinocio.
