Lotus Elise is a roadster whose production plans appeared in early 1994 and were implemented in September 1996 by the British automaker Lotus Cars . The car accelerates to 240 km / h [1] . The car was named Elise in honor of Elisa , the granddaughter of , who was the chairman of the company at the time of the release of the car. [2] .

Design Features
The car has a glued frame made of extruded aluminum profile and plastic body panels made of fiberglass. The engine is located rear, transversely.
Generations
The first generation Lotus Elise S1 (Mk1) was produced from 1996 to 2000. The second generation Lotus Elise S2 (Mk2) is available from 2002 to the present. Lotus received an investment from General Motors to create a second generation, which went on sale in 2001 along with the analogues of the Opel Speedster and Vauxhall VX220 (under a partnership agreement, part of the cars were manufactured under the GM brands) [3] .
Hennessey Venom GT
The Texas-based company Hennessey Performance, engaged in deep tuning of already expensive cars, made the Hennessey Venom GT hypercar on the basis of this car, installing a gasoline engine of 7 liters with two turbochargers, and also carried out many other improvements.
