This article presents the results of the 1992 European Football Championship qualifier.
Teams from 34 countries participated in the 1992 European Football Championship qualifying tournament;
Sweden received a ticket automatically, as the hostess of the tournament.
Faroe Islands and
San Marino for the first time participated in the qualifying tournament of the European Football Championship .
The draw took place on February 2, 1990. 34 national teams were divided into seven groups (six groups of five teams and one group of four teams). The winners of the groups received tickets to the final of the European Championship.
Shortly after the start of the tournament
GDR starred in connection with the unification of Germany on October 3, 1990. Match
GDR -
Belgium , held on September 12, 1990, was recognized as friendly, the remaining games were canceled.
This was the last qualifying tournament for the European championship, in which 2 points were given for the victory. Starting from the 1996 qualifying tournament , teams began to receive 3 points for victory.
Group 1
Voucher became France , which won all matches in the group, scoring 20 goals. She scored 16 points, Czechoslovakia lagged behind it by 6 points, the remaining rivals - even more.

Yugoslavia won the ticket, but was removed from the tournament for political reasons. Denmark , runner-up, received a ticket and later became the European champion. The biggest surprise of this group was the opening match. Faroe Islands - Austria in which Faroe Islands won as well as the game ( Northern Ireland - Faroe Islands ) ending in a draw.

At the draw on February 2, 1990, group 5 consisted of five countries, including two German national teams Germany and GDR . After the reunification of Germany on October 3, 1990, the game held on September 12 Belgium - GDR was recognized as friendly, and all other matches involving GDR were canceled. Germany lost 1–0 match Wales - Germany , however, won all other meetings and a ticket to the final tournament.

England - Poland ended with a score of 2-0. Ireland did not get a ticket, although she did not lose a single match, scored the most in the group and had the best goal difference. The key for the Irish was the match in Poznan against the Poles, where they led 3: 1 15 minutes before the end of the game, but failed to keep the victory.
