Yamada, Matiko

Matiko Yamada ( Japanese 山田 満 知 子 Yamada Matiko , Romaji : Yamada Machiko ; born June 26, 1943 ) - Japanese figure skating coach . Among her past and present students are Olympic medalists Midori Ito [1] and Mao Asada , as well as Yoshie Onda , Yukari Nakano , [2] Kumiko Koivai , Kanako Murakami , [3] Mai Asada . [4] Yamada paid special attention to the technical side of the programs and is known for the fact that many of her students (including Ito, Mao Asada, Yukari Nakano and Kumiko Koivai) learned to perform one of the most difficult jumps - the triple axel .

Matiko Yamada started skating at the age of seven, but she left amateur sports in college to become a coach. He is the author of several books on figure skating: “Figure Skating: Beautiful Dance Lessons” ( し く く 舞 う た め の フ ィ ギ ュ ア ス ケ ー ト レ ッ ス ン , December 2006, ISBN 4901972685 ) and others.
