It is located in the southeastern part of the region 22 km southeast of Ugra , 16 km south of the P132 Vyazma - Kaluga - Tula - Ryazan highway , on the banks of the Popolta River. 21 km west of the village is the Vertekhovo railway station on the Torzhok - Bryansk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
