It is located in the southeastern part of the region 14 km south of Ugra , 8 km east of the Znamenka - Spas-Demensk highway , on the banks of the Baskakovka River. 3.5 km south-east of the village is the Baskakovka railway station on the Torzhok - Bryansk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
