Located in the central part of the region, 10 km north-west of Dorogobuzh , 3 km west of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway. 9 km north of the village is the Safonovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .


History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
