Located in the central part of the region, 2 km north-west of Dorogobuzh , 2.5 km west of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, on the banks of the Dnieper River. 18 km north of the village is the Safonovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
