Located in the central part of the region, 30 km south-east of Dorogobuzh , 25 km east of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, on the banks of the Ugra River. 20 km south of the village is the railway station Terenino on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
